Hello fellow Rezzbians! Welcome to my blog, where you will find ALL THINGS REZZ! This current post has been inspired through my experience at Rezz’s first PORTAL event at Cow Palace. Feast your eyes on this magnificent article, and allow yourself to tune into the experience. Enjoy!
Why? You may ask. Well, let me tell you. The truth is, we don’t all want to confront our inner demons, our shadow. We instinctively run faraway, deep into the woods, we get lost…but, if we’re lucky, soon enough…. We are met with the impossible task of needing to face it. To surrender or battle the forces? We ask. We seek the answer- we follow Rezz into the portal with eager eyes…👁️moment by moment, drop by drop we listen deeply, the tips of our fingers and toes dipped in our very blood. We know, we remember, that this too, fills the very passages in our bones. Like trying to understand the next piece of our puzzle, we decide to open the door and peek inside. Here, in the dark depths, we start to travel, unravel, we are seeing. It’s like we’re seeing ourselves through, but tonight, our tribe stands with us. The bass pounds heavy, catalyzing our every mood, this is sacrificial 😈
Blindsided by our own madness, here in the shadows we realize, it can only be as scary as the tales that which we name it. What if, for once, we danced with it? What if, again, we were resurrected from it? What is seen as a nightmare is now a vision, even so hypnotic…We discover that it is by submerging down under and into this space, we find wonder. We watch with haunted eyes as the lasers draw the pictures before us, they too are merging, the lights flash around us before disappearing again…what are we too hiding? Irrecoverably, we give in to our inhibitions…Captivated by our visual perceptions, we are united with all our etches, but we are free here. We take off our masks just to see another one, lurking in between…swallowed whole in the sudden realization 😵💫
We have tried to protect this pain made of glass by drawing its ink into our blood.🩸We dress in our black and red. Our conceptions slowly sinking, rising, even so blooming-once again from the cracks where the light too, creeps in. Our submission- corroding the surfaces of our being -revealing to us the glowing embers we have beautifully etched with acid. The embers- they ignite fire in our emulsions that we have both burned ourselves into and engraved with tattoos on our skin. We have built a home here. Standing at the edge, the flames rush over us, we are so alive in the pit. We feel deeper, break apart to be whole again. The chimes ripple, with our hearts open, we fall in love again. We have been hexed. Together we find union, each of us individually waking to our own consciousness – we suffer in the silence only for a moment before being catapulted into our collective abyss.
Here there is ecstasy, there is beauty in the pain. Something terrifying becomes so mesmerizing.
So the legend has it, we lose ourselves to find ourselves, right back here, in this moment. We patiently wait to menace ourselves yet again with that certain kind of magic 🪄Delirious and awake, we rapture in the psychedelic spiral 🌀 We form our chemical bonds as we hold out for one more song. We feel the depths of life and death. Now you realize the true mind fuckery that has spun together. And with that, you notice, even Rezz, is an adorable human as she humbly wraps us up in the surreal and bizarre, endless circus, where the crowds spreads beyond us, where fools can be fools 🤡 and ghouls can be ghouls. 👻 The lights turn on and suddenly we exist in the infraliminal space, our minds everywhere and nowhere. This is what I believe to be the witching hour in which we integrate the orbit we just landed from. Feeling like it’s not enough, I feel the mass manipulation. I come to terms with time and space, I open my eyes, I am someone else again. Gushing, melting, falling, romanticizing- my soul will never be released! Sweet dreams are made of these. So I let my day dreams hold me over until we meet again 🌕🕷️🕸️
